How do you maintain a commercial drip coffee maker?

by brielespressomachine.net on March 30, 2010

We have a Bunn coffeemaker that has "two well water tank, so when water is added is a process of brewing instant because the water is warm inside. This week, I realized that the stream was literally down to a trickle, is now three times as long to make a cup of coffee. How can I make it flow better? All I see is the method of vinegar, but I fear that, with the tank, I'll never be able to get all the vinegar rinse. I've heard the expression "Delima." Is there a special procedure or product for this?

RUN A COUPLE OF WATER RESEVOIRS THROUGH WITH ONLY BAKING SODA AND THEN A FINAL ONE WITH JUST CLEAR WATER.

I’ve done the vinegar method. It worked for me. There wasn’t any left over flavor or anything.

The de-lime thing is about cleaning out the spout where the water comes out over the coffee grounds. That sprayer thing unscrews and you can clean under there but you have to empty the pot first.

Vinegar is useful. Use white vinegar, NOT APPLE CIDER VINEGAR. After it’s run thru the coffeemaker, dump the pots and run water only thru the coffeemaker again. The vinegar will get flushed just fine.
