you can try to put just water in it and let it run through like you are making coffee.

Put vinegar through it once. Then run water through 2 or 3 times. Clean as a whistle.

Some people tell you to use vinegar. But I actually use the coffee pot cleaner. You dissolve it in water, and run it thru the brew cycle. It gets rid of the coffee stains and cleans the filter, and all the other crap inside.

It removes hard water build up. and I notice it makes my coffee brew faster for about a week after I use it.

Pour about 1/2 to a full cup of white vinegar into the water tank, turn it on, and let the white vinegar drip through. I usually follow this with putting a full carafe of water into the tank and then turning it on to make sure that all of the vinegar taste is gone. If the parts are marked as dishwasher safe I’d also send the carafe and any other removable part through the dishwasher.

If hard water is your problem you can pick up special tables and liquids at the store to clean the pot.

Put a mixture of half vinegar and half water into the water reservoir, put the coffee pot in its usual place on the bottom of the filter holder, and run the coffee maker through one complete cycle, and turn the coffee maker off. Now let the mixture in the pot cool, and once cool repeat the procedure again. Now run clean water through the coffee maker a couple of times, and you’re all set.

yep vinigar…..but do it outside….if you have an outlet… it will stink.. to high heaven.

Try backwashing it with rock salt slightly dilluted in distilled water…don’t dissolve all the salt…it will help scrub the line. Make sure to back wash with more water till the line clears and the water is no longer salty.

Most have a removable tray where the filter goes. If you open it like you are going to put in a new filter with coffee there should be a way to release the container from it’s holder. Take it out and put the removable tray into the dishwasher (if you have one). Otherwise soak it in a HOT bath of bleach and water for about 30 minutes then rinse it with soap and water by hand.

***be sure to run at least one full pot of just water through the coffee maker even after rinsing it with soap and water to make sure any remaining bleach is cleaned out.

With Baking soda and Hot water….Run it through a cycle with this in it and then run a cycle with just plain hot water in it.

That ought to do the trick.

Fill up the tank with vinagar and put it on. After do it again with clear water. It’ll work like new!

If you have the same dislike for using appliance cleaning chemicals as I do, then use some white venigar. Poor into the water area and let it run through as if you were making coffee. Depending on how your venigar looks when it is all in the coffee, for example very dirty or calcium bits etc…, you may want to dump it out and run some more vinigar through it. The venigar is great for disolving calcium build up from the water and getting any gunk off the tubes and heater. When your venigar comes out clean then run a few pots of hot water through to make sure it is rinsed well and your coffee doesn’t taste like venigar.
Letting venigar set in your Kettle is a great way to clean it also, as well as an taps or places with built up water calcium or sludge. If you don’t have venigar, anything else that is acidic will do a great job also like lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit juices. I keep a bottle of Realemon and one of Realime in my fridge, it comes in handy for more than just drinks. Try rubbing a lemon lime orange or grapefruit piece on you taps it works great. Also a piece of one of these with salt sprinkled on it makes a great scourer for cutlery and pots and pans. The venigar or fruit juice mentioned above is great for making crystal and glass sparkly. Last tip. In a mug put a piece or the juice squeezed from one of the fruits above or some venigar. Add some warm water, put it into your microwave and turn it on to heat until your microwave is steamy. Then take a rag or paper towel and just wipe it clean! Cleans and deoderizes!
Sorry for the long answere, just thought you might llike some more ideas and uses for vinegar.
